A stiking image of Ancient Egypt was among the winners at this year’s International Hologram Manufacturers Association Excellence in Holography Awards.

The “Egypt Phantasy” nano-optical hologram from Demax Holograms won the Innovation in Holographic Technology category, showcasing the creative achievements in e-beam holography, as well as securing top spot in the Best Origination category.

The awards took place at the Holography Conference in Warsaw, Poland, where leading holography companies gathered to recognize excellence and cutting-edge technology. Other category winners were:

  • Best Display or Emerging Technology Application of Holography
    Reverso from Surys
  • Best Applied Security Product
    The Kinegram Colors foil stripe from Leonhard Kurz Stiftung & Co
  • Best Applied Security Decorative/Packaging
    TOTAL Quartz holographic label from Chakavak Printing House and the Hologram Cap from Morphotonix (both commended)

Winner of the Brian Monaghan Award for Business Innovation went to John Hazen, president and CEO of Hazen Paper Company, for his outstanding contribution to the industry, which includes several initiatives designed to cost effectively commercialize holograms.
