Beauty of Letterpress Project Raises $30k for Museum

        July 13, 2018

Beauty of Letterpress Project Raises $30k for Museum
        SUBMITTED

Jim Moran, right, director of Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum, accepts a check for $30,000 from Ellen Bliske, brand manager of Neenah Paper.

Last year, Neenah Paper, Alpharetta, GA, launched a project entitled The Beauty of Letterpress in an effort to raise funds for the struggling Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum in Two Rivers, WI. The museum houses 1.5 million pieces of vintage wood type.

Neenah recently presented Jim Moran, the museum’s director, with a check for $30,000 – half raised from the sale of letterpress prints, with a matching $15,000 grant from Neenah. Moran said that the dollars will be used to protect and display the world’s largest collection of type. To raise funds, thousands of limited edition prints were printed by some of the country’s leading letterpress printers with artwork from leading designers and studios. Many prints are still available for sale, and Neenah plans to launch three new limited edition prints this year. All proceeds will continue to be donated to the museum.
