Effective May 1st BindTech has added Grand Rapids based Dekker Bookbinding to its manufacturing arm. Dekker has been the leading bookbinder in Michigan for decades making the acquisition an easy decision for BindTech CEO, John Helline. “Dekker represents everything we look for in an acquisition partner. Their heritage, their people, and their desire to grow all stood out from the start. We are excited to add one of the premier names in bookbinding to the BindTech family.”
With facilities across the country, BindTech has been growing its national footprint through targeted acquisitions. Today BindTech is the national leader in bookbinding and book finishing services. It also boasts extensive warehousing and fulfillment services under the Publishers Storage & Shipping (PSSC) brand. With the addition of Dekker, the BindTech platform now has over 400 employees and 600,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehousing space.
While it’s the 7 th acquisition in the last 10 years for BindTech, “this one feels different,” COO Chad Dillon admitted. “For 20 years we have battled the likes of Dekker, Kingsport Press, Roswell Bookbinding, Steffen Bookbinders, and Eckhart & Co. To think that they all now sit together under the BindTech umbrella is a testament to the amazing team that we have assembled.”
As an industry leader in all things books the BindTech team won’t be slowing down anytime soon, says VP Aaron Cunningham. “In the first four months of 2026 we have reaffirmed our commitment to edge decorated books with 3 more edge printers and brought Dekker into the BindTech family. For a lot of companies, that would be their “stretch” for the year. I’m excited to say the second half of 2026 should be even bigger. We have a lot in the hopper, and this group has no plans on slowing down.”
