The Pinnacle Awards, hosted annually by the PRINTING United Alliance, showcase unique solutions that help drive the print industry forward through quality, capability, and productivity.
The Orbis Dual 61 encapsulating laminator, which won the Laminators (Roll-to-Roll or Table) category, consists of three parts: a premium Heidelberg® feed head, a precision two-sized laminator, and an in-line guillotine trimmer. Reaching speeds as high as 115 feet per minute, the seamless system utilizes PLC controls for complete synchronization and features an extended cooling zone that instantly cools laminated sheets. Its trimmer can perform encapsulation, flush edge, and negative cutting.

The Orbis Dual 61 accepts B2 sheets and is designed to run films from 1.7 mil to 15 mil thick, making it ideal for heavy-duty lamination jobs like menus, identification cards, gift cards, and trading cards. This system includes several user-friendly features, including swing-out film shafts for quick changeovers, oil-heated rollers accurate to within one degree Celsius, and in-line edge slitters that remove excess film from laminated sheets.
