The 2019 Duplo Finishing Roadshow successfully kicked off last month in Dayton, Ohio. More than 80 people attended what was the first of a three-city summer roadshow, which was held June 20 at the Hollywood Gaming Dayton Raceway. Owners and production managers from 43 in-plant and commercial printers located in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania were present to see product demonstrations and learn actionable information for their businesses.
Duplo USA partnered with MB Graphics for the event. The Digital Finishing Showcase featured more than a dozen products, including the popular DDC-810 Raised Spot UV Coater, the DFL-500 Dry Coat/Foil/Laminator and the all-in-one slitter/cutter/creasers, as well as fully automated bookletmaking and saddle stitching solutions.
Attendees enjoyed a complimentary lunch as they listened to the key presentation delivered by Rick Salinas, vice president of marketing at Duplo USA, on why print embellishment matters. “Printed piece margins can be over 1000% higher by adding embellishment,” Salinas explained. “An embellished piece has over 70% better retention rate over digital.”
The second presentation featured Rodd Hollenbaugh, channel sales development manager at EFI, who talked about the time-saving benefits of integrating Duplo’s key solutions with Fiery JobFlow to automate prepress tasks involved in a production workflow. The last presentation was given by John Bing, sales director of eastern region at Rhin-o-Tuff – the Lunch n’ Learn sponsor – on the industry direction in automated punch technology.
The Duplo Finishing Roadshow makes its next stop in Clarksville, Maryland, on July 18 and wraps up in San Mateo, California, for a two-day event on Aug. 21-22. For more information and to register, visit www.duplousaevents.com.
