        Press Release

        Tecnau Unveils the Cutter c7

        May 16, 2025

Press release submitted on behalf of Tecnau

Tecnau, North Andover, Massachusetts, has introduced its new guillotine Cutter c7, engineered to meet the evolving demands of color inkjet finishing with versatility and precision.

Built on the long-established TC 7000 TS, the Cutter c7 sets a new standard in performance and ease of use. Designed to process a wider range of paper types and weights at higher speeds, it empowers print providers to expand their offerings and operate more efficiently.

What’s New with the Cutter c7:
        • Handle Heavier Media with Ease
The Cutter c7 supports paper weights up to 400 gsm, opening the door to high-value applications such as premium postcards, brochures, photo books, greeting cards, and more. It’s also capable of processing lightweight stock as low as 60 gsm, offering unprecedented flexibility in one device.
        • Improved Third-Party Compatibility
Unlike rotary systems, the Cutter c7 can start and stop instantly, allowing it to synchronize perfectly with downstream processes. This enables seamless integration into a wide range of finishing lines, such as saddle stitchers, folders or book sewing machines from leading industry providers. This reduces waste and enhances finishing flexibility – the Cutter c7 is well suited for dynamic and fast-changing applications.
        • Supports Output from All Major Web-fed Inkjet Presses
The Cutter c7 accommodates web widths up to 23 inches, making it fully compatible with printed output from today’s leading inkjet presses.

The Cutter c7 delivers cleaner, sharper cuts every time thanks to its precision guillotine cutting technology, ensuring crisp edges even on heavy stock and eliminating the “white edge” flaws common with traditional rotary cutters handling those heavy and thicker papers. Cutter c7 is the chief component of Tecnau’s CutReady line – with an added shingling conveyor, CutReady is a cost-effective solution for production of postcards and other marketing materials.

Cutter c7’s intelligent white paper management system automatically separates blank sheets and features a larger waste bin, significantly reducing the need for operator intervention and extending run time. Combined with a user-friendly touchscreen interface that streamlines setup and application changes, the Cutter c7 minimizes downtime and training requirements, making it both efficient and easy to use. Designed with simplicity and performance in mind, the Cutter c7 delivers a lower initial price-tag and reduced maintenance requirements when compared to rotary cutters — offering a faster return on investment for print operations of any size.

        May 6, 2025

Press release submitted on behalf of Metsä Board

Metsä Board Americas, a leading supplier of premium paperboards, is partnering with Homes with Hope, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness in local communities.

The partnership began by combining Metsä Board’s paperboard with the manufacturing capabilities of local converter Kari-Out. Metsä Board Americas donated rolls of MetsäBoard Prime FBB EB, a dispersion-coated barrier paperboard with medium barrier properties against grease and moisture that is both recyclable and compostable. Kari-Out produced takeout boxes free of charge, replacing Styrofoam, previously used by Homes with Hope to serve food.

With the help of its logistics partner, Corporate Traffic, Metsä Board delivered 72,200 paperboard containers to Homes with Hope’s food pantry in Westport, CT. The donation was distributed to eight additional organizations in Fairfield County, extending its impact.

This collaboration highlights Metsä Board Americas’ commitment to corporate social responsibility. “As our presence in the Americas expanded, we wanted to develop initiatives designed to positively impact the community,” said Nathan Pajka, Sustainability Manager, Metsa Board Americas. “We also wanted to align our outreach with our business model and product portfolio to leverage our skillset and make a more meaningful difference locally.”

Helen McAlinden, President & CEO of Homes with Hope, expressed appreciation for the partnership: “This collaboration with Metsä Board Americas provides tremendous value to our food pantry operations and the individuals we serve, as well as to numerous other non-profit providers throughout Connecticut. The donation reached near and far around the State. This generous donation was made available and valued by many of our non-profit community partners. The sustainable takeout containers enable members from our many non-profit partner agencies to safely transport food from pantries and Community Kitchens to work or home, addressing both practical needs and environmental concerns.”

Building on this initial success, Metsä Board Americas is looking to develop a consistent donation schedule with Homes with Hope for the future and plans to expand their product donations to include paper plates and cups. The company has also established a Community Engagement Committee comprising nearly 30 team members to consider and facilitate additional initiatives across four categories: youth education, material donations, volunteerism, and charitable giving.

Meyers Acquires Mankato Packaging, Expanding Folding Carton Solutions

        May 5, 2025

Press release submitted on behalf of Meyers

Meyers, Minneapolis, Minnesota, a provider of sustainable packaging solutions, has announced the acquisition of Mankato Packaging. This
strategic move underscores Meyers’ continued commitment to expanding its presence in the folding cartons sector—a key component of its mission to deliver industry-leading, sustainable packaging solutions.

The acquisition enhances Meyers’ folding carton solutions by combining the resources, technology, and expertise of both companies. Mankato Packaging and Meyers serve overlapping industries—including food & beverage, life sciences, and health, beauty, and cosmetics—making this a natural fit that strengthens their ability to support both existing and new clients with greater value and innovation.

“This is an exciting milestone for Meyers as we continue to grow our folding carton capabilities and expand the impact we can make for our clients,” said Christopher Dillon, CEO and co-owner of Meyers. “We’re thrilled to welcome new customer relationships and strengthen our presence in an industry that aligns so closely with our purpose. As an independent, family-owned company, we remain deeply committed to delivering exceptional service, driving sustainable innovation, and building long-term partnerships that go beyond packaging.”

Michael Dillon, Chief Revenue Officer and co-owner of Meyers, added:
“We’ve built a strong partnership with Mankato Packaging in recent months, and we’re excited to take this next step together. We’ve long respected their contributions to the packaging industry and see this as a great opportunity to expand the value we deliver—especially in the folding cartons space. It’s a meaningful move in our continued commitment to sustainable, high-quality packaging and long-term client partnerships.”

Todd Loosbrock, President of Mankato Packaging, shared his excitement about the acquisition:
“This acquisition brings together two companies that share a deep commitment to quality, service, and sustainability. Meyers’ industry leadership and purpose-driven mission made them the ideal partner to build on the strong foundation that Mankato Packaging has laid,” said Loosbrock.

The acquisition adds new client relationships, expanded scale, and a talented team to the Meyers organization. It enables Meyers to deliver even more value to customers while maintaining the personalized service its partners have come to expect. The company is honored to carry forward Mankato Packaging’s nearly century-long legacy of quality and service.
