Heidelberg’s Crease Matrix Lends New Life to Antique and Vintage Presses

        July 13, 2018

Heidelberg’s Crease Matrix Lends New Life to Antique and Vintage Presses

        The Binding Edge

The new CITO PLAST Crease Matrix from German manufacturer Heidelberg, with US headquarters in Kennesaw, GA, is a creasing and scoring system for short and medium runs on vintage Heidelberg Cylinder and Platen presses.

Used to achieve perfect scores or “creasing,” CITO PLAST Crease Matrix is a metal-based creasing matrix with plastic shoulders, suitable for folding substrates from light paper to corrugated board. The metal base strip is manufactured utilizing a new technology that eliminates separation of the plastic shoulders from the metal base, ensuring maximum stability during the scoring process. This ensures the flawless appearance of the end product after die cutting.

A strong bond between the metal base and plastic shoulders provides additional security and convenient finger-lift handling of the protective paper. The smooth surface reduces optical degradation of the material and leads to higher production output. A familiar color-coding system using “Orange” or “Buff” ensures a seamless transition to this new product.

CITO PLAST also is deliverable in off center, reverse crease, hinge crease and double crease versions. For more information, call 800.437.7388, e-mail parts@heidelberg.com or visit www.us.heidelberg.com.
