Jim Colter, chairman of the board at Colter & Peterson, Paterson, NJ, has retired after 59 years with the company.

When he graduated from high school in 1955, he had planned on a career in the Aviation industry, but a change-of-heart put him to work in the printing industry at his father’s company – Roy Colter Cutting Services. The company merged with Hagman and Peterson in 1991. Colter & Peterson grew to become North America’s largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment, with five offices stretching from coast-to-coast.
