Mohawk Earns Congressional Recognition

Congressman Paul D. Tonko, D-NY, recently presented Thomas D. O’Connor, Jr., Mohawk’s chairman and CEO, with Congressional Recognition for Mohawk’s longstanding environmental achievements, including a 20-year affiliation as a manufacturer of Green Seal-certified papers. Tonko commended Mohawk for its commitment to sustainability, local jobs and economic development.

The US Environmental Protection Agency also recognized Mohawk for many achievements, including being named to the EPA’s national list of 100-percent Green Power Users. Mohawk has numerous environmental partnerships and certifications, including longstanding alliances with the EPA Green Power and SmartWay Transport Partnerships; Center for Resource Solutions Green-e Marketplace; Green Seal; The Rainforest Alliance; and The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
