Nobelus, a trusted finishing solutions supplier for the general commercial print market, has launched a new two-sided thermal laminating system for its equipment line. The Italian-engineered Orbis™ Dual 61 Laminating System is a multi-module unit that consists of a Heidelberg feed head, a thermal laminator, and a trimmer that work together seamlessly to process B2 sheets as fast as 35 meters per minute. Nobelus worked closely with engineers to design the system and bring print service providers a high-quality laminator that reflects the company’s commitment to innovation and customer support.
The system’s automated suction feed head and thermal laminating modules are PLC-controlled to ensure flawless lamination. On the laminating module, swing-out pneumatic film mandrels enable operators to load even the largest film rolls safely and efficiently, and oil-heated rollers keep temperatures accurate to within one degree Celsius. To ensure laminated sheets cool quickly, this unit features an extended zone with four fans and two metal cooling rollers. Edge slitters remove excess film from laminated sheets as they progress towards the trimmer module, which features a heavy-duty guillotine blade capable of edge-seal, flush-trim, and negative cutting.
The Orbis Dual 61 Laminating System fulfills a need in the general commercial print space for a high-speed double-sided laminating system that reliably produces encapsulated sheets. It accepts nylon, BOPP, and PET laminates up to 15 mil thick, making it ideal for brochures, menus, cards, and a variety of other applications.

This laminator includes several features that enable operators to maintain complete control over the lamination process, such as a pneumatically controlled power break and the ability to adjust film tension and alignment with high precision.
