AMERIPEN Launches “Power of Packaging” Website to Highlight the Essential Role of Packaging

Press release submitted on behalf of AMERIPEN

AMERIPEN, the leading voice for packaging policy in the United States, announced the launch of its new Power of PackagingTM website, an educational platform designed to help various stakeholders better understand the essential role packaging plays in markets and communities across the United States.

The interactive site highlights the stories, science, and people behind the packaging systems that protect products, enhance brand recognition, and support a strong domestic workforce. By showcasing real-world examples and insights from across the packaging value chain, the website aims to expand public understanding of the value of packaging.

“Packaging is part of every consumer’s day, from safeguarding products to helping people understand what they buy, and supporting the workforce that makes it all possible,” said Lynn Dyer, President of AMERIPEN. “We created the Power of PackagingTM website to showcase the people, ideas, and innovations behind packaging and to remind audiences of its societal benefits as packaging policy is being considered.”

The Power of PackagingTM website initially includes:

Short videos on the history of packaging and the role that packaging plays to protect products

Flash cards explaining the science behind packaging
Infographics on the power of packaging to drive consumer behavior and support consumers’ needs

An interactive “guess the brand” activity that shows how memorable and purposeful good design can be, even without brand names.

Community engagement highlights showing the packaging industry giving back to society

“We wanted to create a resource that demystifies packaging and helps people see the intention behind it,” said Dyer. “The website gives audiences a straightforward way to explore how packaging fits into daily life and the systems we all rely on.”

The Power of PackagingTM website is part of AMERIPEN’s broader commitment to advancing public policy, supporting packaging education, and representing the full packaging value chain in discussions that impact both the industry and consumers.
