Cartes has announced the successful installation of the world’s first GEMINI line featuring a dual-bar Jet D-Screen digital embellishment unit at Rotocel-Space. The Italian converter specializes in premium labels for wine, olive oil, spirits, and personal care products.

After introducing digital printing in 2010, Rotocel-Space became a pioneer in digital embellishment. Today, with GEMINI and Jet D-Screen, the company takes a further step forward in terms of quality and productivity.

Cartes introduced Jet D-Screen in 2019. Since then, the unit has been helping transform label embellishment, enabling converters to produce high-value, profitable projects even in small, on-demand runs.

Cartes’ digital embellishment technology is available both in a multi-pass version, integrated with GT360 lines, and in a single-pass version on the GEMINI platform. Thanks to two industrial inkjet printing bars, the latter is now even more powerful. According to Cartes, it can reach unprecedented levels of performance and refinement. Compared to the standard version, the dual-bar Jet D-Screen doubles spot varnishing speed, creates tactile embossed effects with greater thickness, or performs varnishing and foil application in a single pass.

The Cartes GEMINI line selected by Rotocel-Space includes a flexo varnishing station, a dual-bar Jet D-Screen digital embellishment module, and a semi-rotary diecutting unit. This configuration provides the Italian converter with high-quality standards, process efficiency, and the ability to meet the most demanding just-in-time applications.
