Metsä Board Introduces New Product for Fast-Moving Brand Packaging in the Americas

Press release submitted on behalf of Metsä Board

Metsä Board, a leading producer of premium fresh fiber paperboards, is introducing MetsäBoard Pro FBB Go, a new folding boxboard designed for demanding food and pharmaceutical packaging, supported by Metsä Board Americas’ customer-centric supply chain model. Together, the product and supply concept help brand owners and converters move faster, reduce risk, and win new business in dynamic market conditions.

In the day-to-day operations of brand owners and converters, production continuity, shifting demand, and high-performance requirements are constant challenges. MetsäBoard Pro FBB Go combines a high-quality, multipurpose folding boxboard with predictable North American availability and flexible delivery solutions, enabling customers to respond quickly to market changes while keeping inventories lean and operations reliable.

Developed for fast-moving brand environments, MetsäBoard Pro FBB Go delivers consistent quality and dependable performance for regulated and sensitive end uses. The grade is OBA-free and features hard sizing, supporting reliable performance in frozen, food, and pharmaceutical packaging applications while meeting stringent compliance requirements.

MetsäBoard Pro FBB Go is produced at Metsä Board’s integrated mill in Husum, Sweden, and supplied to the Americas through Metsä Board Americas’ optimized supply model, which includes U.S.-based inventory positions, forecast-driven replenishment, and customer-specific supply solutions. This approach enables shorter lead times, improved availability, and greater planning confidence, without the need for customers to manage mill production cycles or excess stock.

By leveraging local supply chain expertise and digital order visibility, Metsä Board Americas helps converters and brand owners accelerate time to market, reduce operational complexity, and maintain continuity even in volatile supply environments.

“Speed and reliability are critical for winning business in fast-moving food and pharmaceutical packaging markets,” says Michael George, VP, Sales FBB at Metsä Board Americas. “With MetsäBoard Pro FBB Go and our Americas supply model, we help customers move faster—from qualification to commercialization—while reducing inventory risk and simplifying supply planning.”
